About The Blog

Aspiring barristers - this one is for you.

I am a female, first generation graduate from a working class background. Access to justice, but also, access to the profession is therefore really important to me. Society is diverse and the bar must reflect society to benefit society. The purpose of this blog is to provide access to the profession. I noticed on my legal journey that information about the profession and the processes to becoming a barrister were not as accessible as I would have liked them to be. So, this blog will cover it all from revision, Inns of Courts, scholarships to pupillage. This blog will make information about the profession accessible to all.

Mentoring

Since 2020, I have begun offering mentorship to aspiring barristers and solicitors. I am an unregistered barrister, Middle Temple Scholar, and my "expertise" are in criminal law. We would be a good fit for a mentorship relationship if you have similar goals to mine, but it does not mean that I do not mentor those with differing goals if they think I can support them. As a mentor, I offer an initial appointment on Teams, 24/7 access to my advice via WhatsApp and regular check-ins. My mentorship includes both academic and career based support.

Testimonials

Word on the Street

I am currently a third year law student and have been mentored by Angelina throughout the last year. Before her mentorship I received many rejections for mini-pupillages. She provided me detailed feedback on my CV, how to structure mini applications and more. Since implementing her advice I have secured three minis and marshalling. Angelina always takes the time to provide me honest and detailed feedback. On top of her diligent feedback, she has provided me with sound advice about practical things such as scholarship applications and bar course providers. I cannot thank her enough for always taking the time to reply to my queries and providing excellent mentorship and support throughout the last year.

Angelina was an incredible source of knowledge and support for my GDL scholarship application. She reviewed multiple drafts of my written application and gave me a mock interview. Without her help and cheerleading I would not have been successful in securing a scholarship. She is a fantastic mentor!
